The Orsa Collection is Now Available!

June 23, 2015

Well folks.... It's been a loooooong time coming. If we count the years I even thought about taking metalsmithing classes we're talking since 2000 give or take. But even if we don't go that far back, it's still taken quite some time to get this collection off the ground. This is why I have named it Orsa. The word comes from the Latin root "to begin," and I consider this the start of a new beginning in my design career.

I'm so excited to introduce this collection and share it with the world. With it's modern and minimal look and feel, these delicate designs are exactly who I am as a designer. Classic and effortless designs with a unique twist. Heavily rooted in my love for geometric shapes and clean lines, the collection also has the presence of the pointed arrow form which to me signifies direction and focus towards these new beginnings.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. This is definitely the beginning of a new chapter. As I continue to learn more I will be diving into gemstones and precious metals. I can't wait!

YAY!

June 03, 2015

We're getting super close to finally launching the new Orsa Collection. YAY! I am over the moon with joy since this has been such a learning experience and long process. I never started out as a jeweler so it was all new to me to make jewelry in metal. 3D, casting, soldering... it's all new. This is just a sneak peek at two of my favorite pieces. And yes of course, rose gold is in the mix. I'm currently obsessed with it.

Matters of Delight - Orsa Collection - Coming Soon

Matters of Delight - Orsa Collection - Coming Soon

Today marks the official launch of this new website and brand - Matters of Delight. In case you are shaking your head and wondering, what happened to plastique* and Paper Trail.... do not despair... Matters of Delight is merely a combination of both brands and allowing me to further extend my craft. I have always want to branch out beyond acrylic jewelry and the name plastique* was very prohibitive. I had started the brand as a hobby and didn't think about longevity with its name. I then further trapped myself when I named my stationery line Paper Trail. I finally decided to make the umbrella brand I've always wanted and allow myself the freedom to explore all kinds of designs.

Most recently I have been exploring metalsmithing and am happy to say that within the next month or so I will be launching the Orsa Collection which will be my first collection of metal pieces. The photos above are a sneak peek at what I've been working on behind the scenes. I'm looking forward to exploring this new medium and seeing what I can come up with my newfound skills and tools. I hope you enjoy it and will join me on this new adventure!
